We provide a full contraceptive service in normal surgery hours. For women wishing to have an IUCD (coil) fitted, it is necessary to have an initial appointment with Dr Smith who specialises in the fitting of coils.
Emergency contraception is available from the nurses as well as the doctors, and it is important to be seen within 72 hours of any potential contraceptive failure or omission. This service is also available from the Victoria Health Centre and Family Planning Clinic in town, from the Walk In Centre on London Road or from your local pharmacy (although there may be a charge).
